Upper Eyelid Lift

Incision below the Eyebrow

If you have more excess skin on the outer corners of your eye and have thick eyelid skin, this is the right surgery for you.

Asian, Latino and non-Caucasian patients have thick eyelid skin and have more natural results using an incision below the eyebrow.  Asian patients who have had double eyelid surgery,  or do not have a double eyelid crease, have better results with this technique. By removing skin that hangs over the eyelashes rejuvenate tired, heavy eyes.  Restore a more bright-eyed and youthful appearance.  Dr. Yao uses a careful  technique to ensure the correct amount of skin is removed, while maintaining a natural appearance.

  • Larger, brighter appearing eyes
  • Removes extra skin hanging near eyelashes or into the eye
  • Reduced fine lines and crows’ feet
  • Improved vision

Local anesthesia only, twilight, or general

Peak swelling happens in the first 3 days. The first few days you may feel mild pain and will have minor sight impariments due to reoutine swelling. Most are back to work at 1 week, with residual swelling and bruising that takes several more weeks to subside.

No. The scar is hidden in the crease of the eye, which is invisible when the eye is open.

As we age, upper eyelid skin gets droopy and less elastic. If your eyes look more tired and smaller due to excess skin, you are a good candidate. The best way to determine if you’re a good candidate for surgery is to schedule a consultation.
