Otoplasty is also known as ear pinning. It secures the ears closer to the sides of the head to reduce the appearance of “big” ears. Repositioning the ears makes them appear more proportional with the rest of the face and head. Other ear deformities can also be treated with surgery. Sometimes the ear is pointed, or buried under the skin (cryptotia).
